Treating Tobacco Use among the Behavioral Health Population: A Snapshot of Trends in 2022

Persons with mental health or substance use issues or both are more than twice as likely to use tobacco products as the general population. They also are more likely to die as the result of a tobacco-related illness than from their behavioral health conditions. In addition to smoke-free and tobacco-free policies and similar best practices, what tobacco dependency treatment interventions and policies today are effective in helping to reduce tobacco use in the behavioral health setting?

This 60-minute webinar, featuring a professor of psychiatry and nationally known expert in tobacco cessation, presents an overview of tobacco treatment issues and trends in 2022, including a discussion of the clinical and policy impact on members of the behavioral health population who co-use tobacco or nicotine products and cannabis.
