CBD FAQs with Moyra Cosgrove – Your Questions Answered

Moyra Cosgrove, Head of Nutrition and External Affairs at Naturecan, addresses some frequently asked questions about CBD.

In recent years, CBD has gone from being a relatively unknown compound to something of a global wellbeing phenomenon. This is largely due to a growing body of evidence that suggests CBD can help with a range of health conditions, including anxiety, stress, pain and sleep issues.

So what is CBD? Well, cannabidiol (CBD for short) is one of 140 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. It can be taken in a variety of forms, including CBD oils, capsules, edibles and skin care products. Unlike THC, which is the intoxicating cannabinoid in cannabis, CBD is non-intoxicating, so it does not make the user ‘high’ and is not addictive.

Naturecan’s CBD products are purified and rigorously tested to ensure they have non-detectable THC levels (0.01%), making them completely safe and legal for use.

While CBD offers many potential health benefits, it is not recommended for under 18s, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or people on prescription medication.
